Insider Gives Update On Kareem Hunt Working Out With The Colts

Earlier this week, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that veteran running back Kareem Hunt would sign with the New Orleans Saints to help fill the void left by the absence of Eno Benjamin, who is out for the season, and suspended star Alvin Kamara in the backfield.

Strangely enough, Hunt left New Orleans without putting pen to paper and headed for the Indianapolis Colts, who some believed were willing to offer the veteran back more money to sign with them.

Apparently, the Colts made an offer to Hunt, but it still wasn’t what he wanted, and according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, he has left Indianapolis without making a deal.

With the running back position no longer being valued the same way it once was, it is a bit surprising that Hunt would turn down not one but two teams vying for his services, especially this close to the start of the 2023 NFL season.

However, no numbers are being released regarding what these teams are offering, so it could be a matter of Hunt doing his due diligence to find the best deal and potential fit before signing on the dotted line for the upcoming 2023 campaign.

It’ll be interesting to see what other teams have shown interest in the veteran back and whether he’ll end up landing with one of those teams or end up back in contract talks with the Colts or the Saints in the weeks ahead, as the clock is ticking with teams around the league figuring out their rosters.
