The Baltimore Orioles got a big boost in 2022 thanks to the arrival of star catcher Adley Rutschman.
After finishing in the mix for the American League Rookie of the Year Award, Rutschman isn’t having any sophomore slump.
This season, he is hitting for a .271 average and has hit 16 home runs.
He also has 57 RBI and an OPS of .799.
However, he owns another impressive mark that actually has nothing to do with his numbers.
According to Sarah Langs of MLB.com, the young catcher has played the second most series of at least two games without his team being swept.

Dating back to 2022, Rutschman has played in 76 consecutive series without the Orioles being swept.
The Orioles themselves have gone 77 consecutive series without being swept, as they were not swept in the series before Rutschman was first called up to the Major Leagues.
The longest streak of consecutive series played by a player without his team being swept belongs to former St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Whitey Kurowski.
From 1941-44, he played in 110 series and the Cardinals were never swept during that span.
Rutschman is slowly but surely approaching that mark.
The Orioles have been one of the most impressive teams in all of baseball since Rutschman was called up early last season.
They now own the best record in the American League and have a two-game lead in the American League East over the second place Tampa Bay Rays.
Baltimore owns a record of 72-45 on the season, and they continue to dominate with Rutschman on their side.
