LeSean McCoy Has Big Praise For New Eagles RB

Months after they came to the brink of winning the Super Bowl, the Philadelphia Eagles are considered by most to be the favorites to represent the NFC in the big game once again.

They do have a couple of new faces at key positions, as rookie Jalen Carter is replacing Javon Hargrave at defensive tackle.

In addition, running back Miles Sanders, who was a Pro Bowler last season, departed to join the Carolina Panthers, and D’Andre Swift has taken his place.

LeSean McCoy, a former Eagles running back himself, loves the Swift addition by Philly, and he lauded Swift’s versatility on a recent episode of “Speak” on FS1.

Swift is going into his fourth NFL season, and last year he posted 542 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns while averaging 5.5 yards per carry with the Detroit Lions.

But as McCoy pointed out, he is versatile, and he also added 389 yards and three touchdowns in the air last season.

McCoy even went as far as to predict that he will end up with 1,500 yards from scrimmage in 2023.

The Eagles don’t necessarily need an outstanding running back, as quarterback Jalen Hurts is one of the game’s best dual-threat signal-callers, and he ran for 760 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2022.

The team ranked fifth in rushing yards and first in rushing touchdowns, as Sanders gave them 1,269 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground.

Philly still has one of the best wide receiver tandems around in A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, and their defense should still be strong despite the loss of Hargrave, who joined the San Francisco 49ers.
