James Harden Reportedly Changing His Mind On Trade Destination

Just weeks ago, James Harden told the Philadelphia 76ers that he wanted to be traded to the Los Angeles Clippers and only the Los Angeles Clippers.

But he might be changing his mind about that.

After intense and heated negotiations that have gone nowhere, Harden is expanding his horizons.

According to Hoops Wire, sources are saying that Harden is now “open to other potential destinations.”

The report goes on to state that several teams beyond the Clippers have talked about adding Harden.

But there is a hesitance to do so.

Harden is currently on a one-year deal worth $35.6 million.

Many teams aren’t sure about giving up multiple players or assets without an assurance that he would stay beyond that single season.

Could some teams also be hesitant to deal with Harden based on the ugliness of his current situation with Philadelphia?

Why would a front office acquire a player who is going to publicly lambast the management if things go poorly?

This is big news because it seemed like Harden would only accept the Clippers as his final destination.

Of course, things did not go according to his plans and now he is stuck with very few options.

It’s very clear that Harden no longer wants to play for the Sixers.

There is no doubt that the relationship between him and Daryl Morey is currently very damaged.

But he wants to keep playing basketball and that means he might have to accept something he didn’t initially desire.
