Davante Adams Leads The NFL With An Impressive Stat

Despite being one of the best players in recent Green Bay Packers history — and undeniably one of the best players in his position for years — some people still questioned Davante Adams’ ability to post big numbers last season.

Going from Aaron Rodgers to Derek Carr was a big downgrade, especially considering the Las Vegas Raiders’ roster and aspirations.

However, Adams proved the doubters wrong again by having an outstanding season, logging 100 receptions on 180 targets for a whopping 1,516 receiving yards and a league-leading 14 touchdowns.

With that, as StatMuse points out, Adams now sits on a tier of his own in terms of scorers in this league, as he currently has the most seasons with at least ten touchdowns by an active player (6).

Adams has one more than both Derrick Henry and Melvin Gordon, and the fact that a wideout leads this league on top of two running backs speaks volumes of his dominance in the red zone.

Moreover, no other active player has more than four seasons with 10+ scores.

Also, Adams could’ve had seven of those seasons — all consecutive — if he hadn’t missed some time in the 2019 season.

Adams will have a tough time adding numbers to that mark, though.

Jimmy Garoppolo has dealt with multiple injuries over the past couple of years, and he’s never been the most proficient passer, either.

Nonetheless, Adams will get as many touches as he can handle, as the Raiders don’t have that many skill players and are expected to be trailing more often than not next season.

So, even in a less-than-ideal situation, there’s still a chance that he posts his fourth consecutive season with at least 10 touchdowns.
