With training camps and the NFL preseason well underway for all 32 teams in the league, teams start to figure out where there are holes on their roster that need to be addressed before the start of the regular season.

That said, teams around the league will bring in veteran players for workouts throughout training camp to potentially fill those holes, with the New York Giants being one of the recent teams to do so.

After a recent visit with the New Orleans Saints ended without a contract being signed, former Minnesota Vikings star linebacker Anthony Barr remains a free agent.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Giants brought in Barr for a visit with hopes of potentially getting a deal done and upgrading their defense in the progress with a veteran linebacker.

Barr had spent the majority of his NFL career with the Vikings, as he was pivotal to the team’s success on the defensive side of the football leading back to when the team brought him in as the No. 9 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

After eight seasons in Minnesota, Barr signed with the Dallas Cowboys for the 2022 NFL season, but after 14 games played and a hamstring injury, he wasn’t re-signed by the team.

Despite being a four-time Pro Bowler and still being relatively young at 31, Barr is still searching for a new home in the NFL, which will continue if he doesn’t sign with the Giants after this visit.

Even if Barr heads into the season without a job, it likely won’t be long before he gets a call when injuries start piling up around the league.
