After quite a bit of speculation over the last few weeks, Skip Bayless’ former “Undisputed” co-host Shannon Sharpe has found a new gig, which turns out to be a direct competitor.
Due to the following he’s built up over the years while on “Undisputed” as Bayless’ co-host, the former NFL star had no shortage of options when he officially left the show to pursue greener pastures.
Sharpe could’ve easily started his own thing by investing entirely in his podcast or could’ve pitched his own show to some of the major sports networks, but he chose to become a direct competitor of Bayless by joining the show he left.’
The NFL Hall of Famer will now battle it out on a regular basis with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith on “First Take,” which is pretty ironic considering the history between Bayless and Smith.

Throughout the entire process of Sharpe deciding where he’ll share his opinions next, “First Take” always seemed like the favorite and the inevitable choice for him.
Smith and Sharpe will almost certainly prove to be a dynamic combination, with neither one of these pundits backing down during debates, which obviously makes for entertaining TV for sports fans.
Hopefully, for the sake of the show, Sharpe and Smith can get along while getting into heated debates on a regular basis because if that happens, the sky is the limit for this show.
