Mina Kimes Notes The Best Scenario For Jonathan Taylor

The NFL offseason has been tough on many great running backs.

That is because there is no market for their services and many running backs are being forced to hold out.

We are seeing that with both Josh Jacobs and Jonathan Taylor.

It remains to be seen what will happen with each player.

But, the Indianapolis Colts are open to trading Taylor.

Among the many possible places that Taylor could end up, Mina Kimes believes he is the best fit with the Colts.

According to Kimes, the goal of his season for Indianapolis is for rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson to succeed.

Keeping Taylor and having a strong running game would do just that.

We have seen in the past that a rookie quarterback’s best friend is a strong rushing attack.

Richardson is a great rusher on his own, but he and Taylor could cause serious problems for opposing defenses.

For some reason, it appears that the Colts do not want to give Taylor top-of-the-market money.

That could be due to the number of running backs who have seen a decline in production before their second contract ends.

Yet, Kimes brings up a good point where the Colts could sign Taylor to a two-year deal with a high annual salary.

That way he is still in the prime of his career and can help lead the offense while Richardson gets up to speed.

The Colts have permitted Taylor to seek a trade.

It will be interesting to see what team he suits up for when Week 1 comes around.
