When Damian Lillard sat down with Marc Spears for an interview recently, most people expected him to speak about the Portland Trail Blazers.
But instead of discussing his current trade demand from the team, Lillard refused to discuss things.
He said that out of respect and love for the franchise, he wouldn’t open up about where things stand.
That simply wasn’t enough for some people tied to the Heat.
According to radio host Dusty Harrah, via Dru on Twitter, some people in Miami were upset with the way Lillard handled that interview.
“There was literally a columnist in Miami just yesterday who said the best course of action is for Dame to go scorched earth on the Blazers,” Harrah said.

Apparently, some people want Lillard to take the gloves off and make the situation with Portland even more difficult.
So far, he has remained very quiet about his trade demand.
While he has told the team’s front office that he wants to leave, he hasn’t done much more than that and hasn’t spoken out in interviews.
He clearly still respects the team and the people who run it, even though he wants to head to Miami.
Some people believe that Lillard would have had better luck if he had chosen a different approach.
But then there are others who see how stagnant the James Harden-Philadelphia 76ers drama has become.
Harden made a lot of noise and publicly spoke out about his team and it didn’t result in anything.
This proves that sometimes the “scorched earth” policy doesn’t help reach goals.
It seems unlikely that Lillard will ever really speak out against the Blazers.
No one knows how that’ll affect his trade request.
