Texans Receiver Comments On C.J. Stroud’s Ceiling

The Houston Texans were projected to have one of the five worst records in the NFL this season.

And while that could still happen, it’s fair to state that they’re ahead of schedule in their rebuilding process already.

DeMeco Ryans has gone the extra mile to develop a winning culture within the organization.

But more than that, C.J. Stroud’s play has also been a major factor behind their early-season success.

That’s why Texans WR Nico Collins talked to Zach Gelb of CBS Sports about how impressed he is with his quarterback (via Dov Kleiman).

Collins raved about Stroud’s work ethic and the way he handles himself, stating that he has a chip on his shoulder and wants to make every single player around him better.

He also believes Stroud is in love with the game and is willing to do whatever it takes to get a win when his name is called, and gave him a lot of credit for him having the best season in his career just yet.

It’s safe to say that those who were concerned about Stroud’s reportedly low score in the cognitive tests were wrong, and he’s had no trouble whatsoever reading coverage or rival defenses.

Stroud has put up video-game-like passing numbers, just like he did at Ohio State, and he’s looked more poised and ready with every single snap.

He’s just getting started, and there’s a long way to go, but he’s been the best player in his rookie class by a significant margin thus far.
