Ben Simmons has faced a lot of criticism from fans over the last two seasons.

Initially, he was scorched by fans due to his controversial trade request from the Philadelphia 76ers.

Simmons was ultimately traded to the Brooklyn Nets but didn’t really impress fans during the 2022-23 season.

He had the worst season of his career, averaging just 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game for the Nets.

Ahead of the 2023-24 season, Simmons wants to become an even better player than he was during his All-Star years, as shared via NBACentral on Twitter.

“I want to be back where I was. I want to be an All-Star. I want to be better than an All-Star,” Simmons said to Esquire.

Simmons previously made three consecutive NBA All-Star appearances from the 2019 to 2021 NBA All-Star Games.

But since then, he has played like a shell of himself due to various reasons.

However, watching Simmons dominate in the preseason has restored the faith of fans in the Australian star.

Simmons has seemingly regained confidence in his ability to play basketball.

In the Nets’ recent matchup against the 76ers, Simmons dominated across the board.

He put up 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists against his former team.

Unfortunately, Simmons’ performance wasn’t enough to lead the Nets to victory.

However, the biggest takeaway from the defeat is the fact that Simmons is getting better with each game.

If he can keep improving at this rate, Simmons may finally be back to his previous form and could ultimately lead the Nets back to their glory days.
