The 2023-24 NBA season is about to start, and several players are already under the microscope.

Each season, there are a few players who always receive some extra attention from the media, but not in a positive way.

Yes, we are talking about the NBA players who have the most to prove in the upcoming season.

Speaking of which, former NBA player turned analyst Kendrick Perkins recently shared his take on the five players with the most to prove this season, via NBA on ESPN on Twitter.

Perkins’ list featured Zion Williamson, Ja Morant, Damian Lillard, Evan Mobley, and Paul George.

Williamson is on this list almost every year due to his inability to stay healthy despite being a former No. 1 overall pick.

Last season, Williamson played in just 29 games.

Sure, he averaged 26.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game for the Pelicans, but if he cannot stay healthy this season, many will label him a bust.

Morant, on the other hand, needs to prove his worth to fans following his multiple gun-related controversies last season.

But it won’t be an easy task for Morant since he will serve a 25-game suspension to start the season.

As for Lillard, he finally has a competent roster around him, and if he fails to win a ring this season, he will be berated by fans for sacrificing his loyalty for nothing.

Mobley and George are the two other players mentioned by Perkins who he wants to prove their worth in the 2023-24 season.
