The NFL has embraced the new trend of dual-threat quarterbacks as seemingly every team desires a player that can threaten defenses both through the air and on the ground.
Players like Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts have thrived in their respective schemes that highlight their abilities.
However, Michael Vick is the person responsible for changing the way quarterbacks are viewed because of how he played the game.
Vick was the first quarterback to ever rush for over 1,000 yards in a season and came close to winning the NFL MVP award in 2004.
Although his career was interrupted after he pleaded guilty to his involvement in a dog fighting ring, Vick managed to come back and put together five more solid seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.
For all his accolades, some believe Vick should be in the Hall of Fame but he doesn’t agree via Bleacher Report.

Vick was named to four Pro Bowl teams and won NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 2010, but his lack of playoff success hurts his Hall of Fame case.
He is still considered an iconic figure in NFL history, but the threshold for Hall of Fame quarterbacks is high and Vick is probably right that he needed to do more to make it.
Although making the Hall of Fame is a long shot, it shouldn’t dismiss Vick’s influence on the game of football.
If Vick were to play today, there’s no doubt he would’ve thrived and perhaps would have been able to build a much stronger case.
