Kevin Durant Reveals His Thoughts On Returning To The Bay

Incredibly enough, superstar forward Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns hasn’t played in front of Golden State Warriors fans in San Francisco since he left the franchise back in 2019.

Durant has gone through quite a bit during that period, from battling back from injuries to dealing with a failed stint with the Brooklyn Nets, but he has yet to face the Warriors faithful since leaving the franchise to join forces with Kyrie Irving.

On Tuesday night, at the Chase Center in San Francisco, Durant will finally play in front of Warriors fans again, and there’s no telling what kind of reception he might get, even though he helped lead the team to two NBA titles during his time in the Bay Area.

Ahead of the season opener on Tuesday, Durant spoke to the media about his return and talked about his time with the Warriors as well as being excited for the season opener via Suns reporter Trevor Booth of ClutchPoints.

Clearly, Durant enjoyed his short stint with the Warriors and went far enough to say he felt like fans of the franchise were “family” while he was there, which is a strong statement, especially for someone who doesn’t like saying those kinds of things to the media.

Although it will be interesting to see how Warriors fans react to Durant’s return to the Bay Area, the real intrigue is what these two Western Conference heavyweights will look like on the basketball floor.

Along with Durant’s return, it will be the first time Chris Paul faces his old team, which also adds to this must-see matchup in San Francisco.
