After earning a trip to the Super Bowl last season, the Philadelphia Eagles have been able to pick up right where they left off in 2022, as they are heading into Week 8 of the 2023 campaign with a 6-1 record.

Despite their recent success, the Eagles are a team that is always looking for ways to improve their roster, which sometimes involves them making trades for veteran players who can make an immediate impact.

Most recently, Philadelphia acquired All-Pro safety Kevin Byard from the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a pair of Day 3 picks in the 2024 NFL Draft and safety Terrell Edmunds.

The Eagles might not be done making deals before this season’s trade deadline, however, as The Athletic’s Dianna Russini revealed on Sunday that the team still wants to make another trade within the next few days, and it could be for a linebacker.

Philadelphia knows their franchise is currently in a Super Bowl window, and they’re clearly looking for ways to keep that window open as long as they possibly can.

While some teams have experienced a bit of a Super Bowl hangover in the season after making it all the way to the Big Game, the Eagles currently appear to have one of the best chances to return to the final game of the 2023 campaign to compete for a Vince Lombardi trophy.

On Sunday, Philadelphia will attempt to improve their record to 7-1 when they travel to take on a feisty Washington Commanders team.

It could end up being a close matchup, as the Eagles needed overtime earlier this season in Week 4 to get a 34-31 win over the Commanders.
