Davante Adams Shares Strong Statement On New Raiders HC

It’s the dawn of a new era for the Las Vegas Raiders, and while there hasn’t been a lot to celebrate for the franchise lately, it seems like their best player is quite happy about that.

Davante Adams recently raved about interim HC Antonio Pierce, looking ecstatic after he took over for the fired Josh McDaniels.

Adams wanted to make it clear that he wasn’t happy or celebrating after Josh McDaniels, OC Mick Lombardi, and GM Dave Ziegler were let go, but he was excited about the future and Pierce’s ability to lead the team forward (via Anthony Galaviz).

The former Green Bay Packers star never shied away from controversies or hid his discontent with the state of the offense.

While he never took direct shots at McDaniels or QB Jimmy Garoppolo, he did complain about his lack of involvement in the offense, and it reached rock bottom when he finished the game vs. the Lions with just one reception for 11 yards.

Adams had an outburst on the sidelines and even claimed that he didn’t know what more to say at that point, and it seemed like the situation with McDaniels was simply unsustainable.

The Raiders had moved on from Derek Carr — who actually recruited Adams — but it’s now clear that it wasn’t a personnel-related issue.

McDaniels hasn’t found any success as a head coach, and with Aidan O’Connell taking the reins of the offense and Garoppolo likely heading to the bench for good, it’s safe to expect that Adams’ production will go back to its usual self.
