Analyst Reflects On Packers’ Struggles To Win

The Green Bay Packers, one of the NFL’s most storied franchises, are in a place they haven’t been at in decades.

Not only do they have a 2-5 record, but for the first time since 1991, they do not have a Hall of Fame-caliber quarterback on their roster.

Jordan Love is now their starter under center, and he has struggled for much of this season as he has completed only 57.7 percent of his pass attempts and thrown eight interceptions.

While there are rumors that the Packers already want to move on from Love, three-time Super Bowl champion Daryl Johnston said per NFL on FOX Podcast that it is hard for a team in the Packers’ position to win games and put things together.

One big factor in Green Bay’s struggles is the fact that they lack reliable and productive playmakers on offense.

None of their players have as many as 320 receiving yards so far this season, while Aaron Jones, their main threat at running back along with AJ Dillon, has been hampered by a hamstring injury.

As a result, they’re just 21st in points and 25th in total yards.

When a young quarterback such as Love, who is in his fourth season but has never been a full-time starter until this year, doesn’t have reliable receivers around him, his learning curve grows a lot steeper.

Cheeseheads have been accustomed to having either Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre under center for what had seemed like a million years, but now it is a brave new world for their beloved Packers.
