After a surprising letdown performance in Week 8, the Kansas City Chiefs bounced back in Week 9 against the Miami Dolphins to improve to 7-2.
The Chiefs beat the Dolphins 21-14, a lower-scoring affair than the league anticipated considering the offenses on both teams.
Patrick Mahomes had a relatively quiet day as he completed 20-of-30 passes for 185 yards and two passing touchdowns.
Miami’s defense did well to contain Mahomes and the rest of the Kansas City passing attack, but it wasn’t enough to beat the reigning Super Bowl champions.
Offensively, Andy Reid has had to lean more on the run game than normal but his defense has stepped up to give the team a lift when it needs it the most.
The Chiefs and Dolphins squared off in Frankfurt Germany, and with the win Kansas City managed to make history via ESPN.
They are the first team to win a game in four different countries. (Germany, England, Mexico, and the USA)

It’s quite the peculiar stat, though it speaks to how successful Kansas City has been in recent years with Mahomes under center.
The NFL has done its best to popularize football across the globe, and it helps to send one of the best teams in the league to dazzle the international market.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell probably would have preferred a shootout between Tua Tagovailoa and Mahomes, but the Chiefs are happy to just come back home with another win.
Kansas City may not be quite the same team it was when it took home last season’s Super Bowl title, but it’s shown that it can win in multiple ways which helps boost their chances of repeating.
