After an amazing start to the 2023 NFL season, it seems like the hype around the Miami Dolphins is finally starting to die down.

The Dolphins have been one of the best offenses throughout nine weeks, but they ran into a wall when they played the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9.

Kansas City has flip-flopped this year, becoming a much more complete defense versus the explosive offense that fans are used to seeing.

The Chiefs were able to hold the Dolphins to just 14 points in Frankfurt, Germany and thus added to their inability to beat projected playoff teams.

Miami has had trouble when they play against great defenses, and those woes were front and center against Kansas City as their run game got bottled up which led to more difficult passing downs.

Although the Dolphins sit at 6-3, Colin Cowherd isn’t buying them as a Super Bowl contender via The Herd.

“Teams need all-weather tires. Miami doesn’t have them,” Cowherd said.

Cowherd argues that Miami is built for the early part of the regular season when teams are still getting acclimated.

Cowherd also points out that the AFC has got teams like the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals who are looming as more dangerous threats come playoff time.

Miami should still be considered a problem in the postseason considering how fast they can score, but it is starting to feel like teams have started to solve how to slow them down.
