The Philadelphia 76ers seemed to be an absolute mess over the summer, with the huge distraction of James Harden’s trade request being the only thing people could talk about when referring to the team and what the future holds for the storied franchise.

Fortunately, the team was recently able to finally part ways with Harden by trading him to his desired destination, the Los Angeles Clippers, which is a deal that seemed like it was never going to get made.

In the aftermath of the Harden trade, no one knew what to expect from this team, as they didn’t get back game-changing assets to replace what Harden could do on the floor on a nightly basis for Philadelphia.

Ironically enough, there have been nothing but positive vibes from the 76ers ever since the deal came to fruition with the Clippers, with the team currently sitting atop the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 6-1.

The 76ers have made easy work of the competition, leading to a six-game winning streak coming into Thursday, and ESPN’s Brian Windhorst believes it is all sunny in Philadelphia from here on out, via NBA on ESPN.

It seems as though the 76ers are thriving when everyone had written them off, as the coaching is improved with Nick Nurse calling the shots, and everyone seems content in their roles with superstar Joel Embiid as happy as he’s ever been.

It’ll be interesting to see if Embiid and company can continue to defy the odds and play at a high level while giving the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks a run for their money in the East.
