Rob Gronkowski Says Patriots Player Should Ask To Be Released

The New England Patriots are currently in a very difficult and unusual situation for the storied NFL franchise, with the team not used to losing and not used to having a bleak future ahead with or without legendary head coach Bill Belichick calling the shots.

With the team’s most recent loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Germany, the Patriots are now 2-8 on the season and could be headed for some drastic changes in the very near future, as longtime team owner Robert Kraft and company must be getting increasingly frustrated with every loss.

Along with Belichick’s job status seemingly being on the line moving forward, starting quarterback Mac Jones seems to be going nowhere in New England, as he has been unable to reclaim his Pro Bowl from his rookie season with the team.

Former Patriots star Rob Gronkowski believes that the time has come for Jones to ask the team to release him because he thinks that Belichick isn’t leaving the team and that the young quarterback needs a change of scenery to succeed in the NFL, via “Up & Adams” with Kay Adams.

At this point, it seems as though things are getting progressively worse for Jones and that there’s little to no chance of him turning things around in New England, so maybe asking for his release isn’t a bad way to go.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Jones and Belichick, but it seems that the writing is on the wall that one or both will be gone once this nightmare season comes to an end for the Patriots.
