Steelers WR Got Into Heated Altercation With Teammate Following Browns Game

With the 2023 season nearing the end, teams in the hunt for a playoff spot like the Pittsburgh Steelers have less room for errors when they step out onto the field each week.

With there being less room for mistakes, tensions can sometimes arise in a team’s locker room, as everyone is trying to make sure the organization is doing everything they can to earn a spot in the postseason.

It seems like this was the case recently when a couple of Steelers players had to be separated after getting into a “heated” argument, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Twitter.

According to Schefter, Pittsburgh wide receiver Diontae Johnson and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick had a not-so-friendly argument after the Steelers’ loss to the Cleveland Browns last weekend.

Nothing has been revealed in terms of what the argument was about, but one can assume that it had something to do with Pittsburgh’s record dropping to 6-4 after the loss to the Browns.

Fitzpatrick, a three-time All-Pro defensive back, has been out of action since he injured his hamstring in the Steelers’ Week 8 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Johnson, meanwhile, has appeared in six games for Pittsburgh this season, catching 26 passes for 335 yards and one touchdown during his time on the field.

However, in the Steelers’ last two games, the veteran receiver has only accumulated a total of three receptions for 33 yards.

Did Fitzpatrick possibly say something to Johnson about his lack of production in Pittsburgh’s last two contests?

That wouldn’t be shocking, but Johnson has a good chance to get back on track when the Steelers take on a bad Cincinnati Bengals pass defense on Sunday.
