Kyler Murray Joins Elite Rushing QB Club

The 2023 NFL season has been doomed from the start for the Arizona Cardinals, with the team having to head into the year without star quarterback Kyler Murray under center, as he was still recovering from surgery on his torn ACL.

With Murray not expected to return to the field until about the midway point or possibly longer, the outlook for the 2023 campaign was bleak, to say the least, for the lowly Cardinals.

Even though the 2023 NFL season is officially a lost cause for the Cardinals at this point, with the team sporting a record of 2-10 after Week 12’s loss to the division-rival Los Angeles Rams, Murray has played well since returning to the field, which might bode well for his future in Arizona.

One of the most impressive aspects of Murray’s game since returning has been that the surgery on his knee hasn’t impacted his speed on the field, as he seems as fast as ever when he takes off with the football.

Murray has only played three games since returning and has scored a rushing touchdown in each of those three games, which puts him in select company when it comes to rushing touchdowns for quarterbacks in their first 60 games via the NFL’s Twitter account.

One of the major concerns for the Cardinals after Murray had gone down with the knee injury was whether he’d still have his trademark speed, which makes him so unique.

Those concerns don’t seem to be a problem anymore, but whether the team will choose to bring in another quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft still remains to be seen.
