The Week 12 game between the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles ended up being one of the weekend’s best.
This was a back-and-forth battle, and while it seemed at times that the Bills had put the Eagles away, they were unable to get the job done.
With this loss, the Bills’ season record moved to 6-6, a far cry from where this team was projected heading into the year.
Sean McDermott commented on the state of the team in a postgame interview shared by reporter Jori Epstein.
McDermott remained positive despite the team’s performance, saying, “We’re a good football team and we just came up on the short end here.”
Bills HC Sean McDermott: “We’re a good football team & we just came up on the short end here. There are no moral victories. Each & every one of us have to look at ourselves & that starts with me.
“That’s what the best do.And I know our football team’s a darn good football team.” https://t.co/0pJ48brVnn pic.twitter.com/p0bEvd7TVw

While he was initially positive, McDermott was also honest about where his team stands.
“Each and every one of us needs to take a look at ourselves, and that starts with me,” McDermott later said.
The AFC has been a hard-fought conference throughout the year.
With that being said, if the playoffs started today, the Bills would not make it.
This loss has put the Bills in must-win mode moving forward if they want to advance to the postseason.
If they are going to make that happen, they will have to come up with wins against some of the league’s best teams.
The Bills have matchups remaining against the Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, and Miami Dolphins.
Any further slip-ups could result in catastrophe for a team that had a lot of momentum coming into the 2023 season.
Can they figure out a way to overcome their recent woes?
