The Philadelphia Eagles will honor one of the most explosive players in NFL history.

Former WR DeSean Jackson has officially announced his retirement, and he’s going to retire as a member of the organization on Friday, December 1.

The team took to Twitter to wish him well and congratulate him on his 15-year career upon the announcement.

A three-time Pro Bowler, Jackson will also be the team’s Honorary Captain on Sunday’s pivotal clash vs. the San Francisco 49ers in front of a sold-out crowd at Lincoln Financial Field.

Jackson entered the league as a second-round pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, staying in the City of Brotherly Love for eight years, thriving on offense and special teams as a perennial big-play threat.

He ranks third all-time in receiving yards in franchise history (6,512), all while being ninth in receiving touchdowns (35) and sixth in receptions (379).

As a punt returner, he’s tied for the most punt return TDs (4) and is second in punt returns (132) and third in punt return yards (1,296).

He also owns several marks around the league, such as being tied for an NFL record eight touchdowns of 50+ receiving yards in a single season.

Jackson also has the highest yards per touchdown average in a single season for players with at least ten touchdowns in a season (52.8) and became the first player in league history to be selected to a Pro Bowl at two positions (KR and WR).

He’s also just the second player in league history to score touchdowns via punt return, rushing, and receiving during each of his first three seasons, and the fifth player to log at least 900 receiving yards in each of his first four years in the league.
