The Denver Nuggets recently matched up with the Phoenix Suns in the 2023-24 NBA season.

While fans expected it to be a close game, the Nuggets won the matchup comfortably.

Nikola Jokic was his usual dominant self as he recorded 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 16 assists for the Nuggets.

But the true deciding factor was Kevin Durant’s shooting struggles in the second half of the game.

After the 111-119 loss, Durant shared his honest views on his lackluster performance against the Nuggets via Duane Rankin on Twitter.

“I got to play through it, I got to be better,” Durant said.

As expected, Durant took responsibility for his abysmal shooting night and vowed to do better in the future.

Durant had 30 points, 4 rebounds, and 11 assists in 36 minutes of playing time, but it included an 8-of-25 shooting night from the Phoenix Suns superstar.

In fact, Durant scored the majority of his points thanks to his 13-of-13 shooting from the free-throw line.

Outside of it, Durant was defended well by the Nuggets throughout the game.

The two-time NBA champion’s poor performance also included 0-of-10 shooting in the second half of the loss.

It was truly a shocking performance by Kevin Durant, as he’s averaging 31.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game for the Suns this season.

On top of that, Durant has maintained a 50.4% shooting from the field and 48.7% from the three-point line.

Following the crushing defeat, the Suns have now fallen to an 11-8 record as they are now the sixth seed in the Western Conference.

Can Kevin Durant bounce back after the lousy performance against the Nuggets? Fans will find out soon.
