Joy Taylor Still Questions Dak Prescott’s MVP Case

The complexion of this season’s race for the NFL regular-season MVP has changed considerably of late.

For much of the year, it looked to be a two-man race between Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts, but Mahomes’ numbers have been somewhat subpar, at least by his standards.

Over the last few weeks, Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill have entered the race, and after Week 13, San Francisco 49ers signal-caller Brock Purdy has also become a frontrunner.

Joy Taylor said on FS1’s “Speak” that Prescott will have the opportunity to “remove all doubt” that he deserves the MVP with the slate of games Dallas has remaining.

First up in that slate of games is a home contest against the Eagles, who are the defending NFC champions.

The Eagles are just one game ahead of the Cowboys at 10-2, and this contest could ultimately decide which team finishes first in the NFC East.

After that, Dallas will visit the Buffalo Bills, who are still a tough team despite their problems this year, and the explosive Dolphins the following two weeks.

Then on December 30, the Cowboys will face the Detroit Lions, who are becoming one of the league’s newest powers, back in Dallas.

Prescott has been playing brilliant football over the last several weeks, but his critics say he has a history of not playing well in big games, especially come playoff time.

He will need to raise his game as winter arrives and deliver the Cowboys their first Super Bowl championship since the 1995 season in order to prove he’s truly an MVP, not just in the regular season but overall.
