Raiders Reveal Latest Depth Move On Defense

The Las Vegas Raiders have a 5-7 record and have very little chance of making the playoffs, but they apparently haven’t given up on their season.

They recently switched quarterbacks by benching veteran Jimmy Garoppolo and promoting rookie Aidan O’Connell while also firing head coach Josh McDaniels and replacing him with Antonio Pierce.

On Tuesday, the Raiders announced on their official Twitter account that they signed defensive end Janarius Robinson while also adding Charles Snowden.

Robinson was a fourth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Florida State University, where he totaled 8.0 sacks and 20.5 tackles for loss in four seasons.

An injury cost him the entire 2021 NFL season, and a day after he was waived the following summer, the Minnesota Vikings signed him to their practice squad.

He never played for them, and in September, he made his way to the Philadelphia Eagles, for whom he never played in an actual game, partly due to an ankle injury.

Las Vegas brought him onto their practice squad in late August, and he finally got onto the field in late November when they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Snowden went undrafted in 2021 from the University of Virginia, and he appeared in two games for the Chicago Bears that year as a rookie.

The Bears waived him the following summer, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers added him to their practice squad midway through last season before they waived him in August.

This Sunday, the Raiders will host the Vikings, a team that has somehow found a way to battle to a 6-6 record despite injuries to quarterback Kirk Cousins and wide receiver Justin Jefferson.
