Jake Browning Takes Home A Surprising Honor

After superstar quarterback Joe Burrow went down with a season-ending injury recently, the Cincinnati Bengals have been written off as a potential Super Bowl title contender and possibly even a playoff team in the AFC.

Not many have a lot of faith in the Bengals without Burrow leading the charge, as he is arguably the heart and soul of the team and the main reason Cincinnati has had so much success over the last few years.

Even though Burrow is on the mend and won’t be back on the field for Cincinnati until next season, Jake Browning has started to make an impression on this team after only two games of shouldering the load under center for the Bengals.

In fact, Browning played so well in the win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 13 that he was named AFC Player of the Week, according to the NFL’s Twitter account.

With everyone having already written off the Bengals, Browning can use this time to make an impression and potentially earn a starting job with another team after the 2023 campaign.

In the win over the Jaguars, Browning threw for 354 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for a touchdown, which helped propel the team to victory, 34-31.

At 6-6, the Bengals still have a chance to make it to the NFL playoffs and might be able to accomplish that feat if Browning can continue to play at a high level while limiting turnovers.
