Wednesday night’s win over the Washington Wizards was yet another example of how great Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers can be.

He is again having one of the best seasons of his career and putting up incredible numbers.

According to StatMuse, Embiid is now tied with Michael Jordan for the most 50-point, 10-rebound, 5-assist games on a 60% field goal percentage over the last 40 years.

Both Embiid and Jordan have had four such games.

There is a very good chance that Embiid will have more games like this in the future, which means he will likely surpass Jordan.

Any NBA player is elated whenever they are able to do something better than Jordan so this would be a huge badge of honor for Embiid.

So far this season, he is recording 33.1 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game, which is actually a little better than what he averaged last season when he won his first MVP trophy.

During Wednesday’s game against the Wizards, Embiid was again his team’s most valuable player, scoring 50 points, 13 rebounds, and 7 assists.

When the season began, the 76ers quickly became the most dominant team in their conference.

They are still doing quite well but have slid down to the fourth seed in the East with a 13-7 record.

As a reminder, the Sixers ended last year as the third seed in their conference with a record of 54-28 and, of course, then fell short in the playoffs again.

Philadelphia is eager to put last season behind them and do much better, which means they will need Embiid to continue putting up numbers like Jordan.

He has gotten off to a terrific start but can the reigning MVP keep it up?
