The biggest question mark for the San Francisco 49ers coming into the 2023 NFL season was whether quarterback Brock Purdy was truly the real deal and able to become the new face of the storied franchise in the Bay Area.

After an incredible four-touchdown performance against the Philadelphia Eagles last week, Purdy proved a lot of his doubters wrong, as he was able to step up and help his team beat one of the best teams in the NFC that had suffered only one loss before losing to the 49ers.

With Purdy quickly becoming a household name and one of the best quarterbacks in the game, he’s starting to get the recognition that he deserves.

The latest to give some praise to Purdy is Iowa State alum Tyrese Haliburton via NBA Sports Bay Area & CA, who is having a similar rise to superstardom in the NBA as the undisputed leader of the Indiana Pacers.

“To see what he’s doing and succeeding the way that he is, that’s really cool to see especially being from Iowa State, where it’s not a school that’s expected to have this much success at the professional level in any sport,” Haliburton said.

Both of these professional athletes have far exceeded expectations at this point in their careers, and both have a very bright future ahead of them if they can continue to play at a high level.

Even though the Pacers are a team on the rise in the NBA, Indiana isn’t considered a title-contending team just yet and has a long way to go to get there in a highly competitive Eastern Conference.

As for Purdy, the pressure is on to win a Super Bowl, with the 49ers looking like the best team in the league and ready to contend for a title.
