This has been a frustrating season for the New York Giants, and after they had lost seven of their first nine games, quarterback Daniel Jones was lost for the year with a torn ACL.
It looked like perhaps all there was left to do was to tank for a shot at drafting someone such as University of Southern California signal-caller Caleb Williams.
In came Tommy DeVito, an undrafted rookie QB, and not much was expected from him.
But he has now led the Giants to three straight wins, and he has become the toast of the New York City area as a result.
Some are now wondering if the team may have a brewing quarterback controversy, but DeVito said per Giants Videos that he is in constant communication with Jones.

DeVito has been a feel-good story for the team and its fans — he grew up in New Jersey just minutes away from MetLife Stadium, and his Italian-sounding last name has inspired some funny headlines in the New York-area media outlets.
Right now, he is having his honeymoon period, and one has to think that pretty soon, the rest of the league will figure him out and cause him to come down to earth.
It is hard to imagine DeVito supplanting Jones as QB1 next season — after all, the Giants invested plenty of dough into Jones when they gave him a four-year, $160 million contract extension in March.
Some feel that instead of giving Jones that type of contract, the team should’ve given it to running back Saquon Barkley, who is its only viable threat on offense.
