Richard Sherman Reveals Why Jalen Hurts Called Out His Teammates

Date:

The Philadelphia Eagles are at a serious crossroads with just three games left in the regular season.

Although they’re 10-4 and tied for the NFC East lead, the Eagles have lost three consecutive games and their offense has averaged just 16.3 points per game during that span.

They’ve already squandered the No. 1 seed in the NFC and could fall into the wildcard round if they can’t win their division.

After the Eagles’ recent loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts questioned the commitment of his teammates during their most recent slump.

While some were surprised to hear the typically-stoic quarterback call out his team, Fox Sports analyst and former NFL cornerback Richard Sherman said he believes Hurts’ actions were more about challenging his teammates rather than denigrating them.

“He meant exactly what he said,” Sherman said Tuesday. “And I think he’s challenging his team. I think he’s trying to light a fire under their team in the best way he knows how.”

Despite a 10-1 start to the season, the Eagles have faltered at the wrong point in the year.

They barely won games against the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and Buffalo Bills and were walloped in two of their past three losses.

As such, the Eagles’ point differential of plus-18 ranks slightly above the Los Angeles Rams and just below the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings – all of which are currently wildcard teams.

The defense can’t stop teams and the offense can’t score points, so Hurts and company will need to change something with three matches left on the 2023 regular season slate.
