The Oklahoma City Thunder are finally starting to turn things around after developing their young core for a couple of seasons.

Thanks to the growth of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Josh Giddey, and Chet Holmgren, the Thunder are currently one of the best teams in the Western Conference.

The Thunder currently have a 17-8 record, as they hold the second seed in the Western Conference.

Despite the Thunder being extremely good this season, there are some reports suggesting that Thunder general manager Sam Presti is leaning toward making a big move around the NBA trade deadline.

In fact, senior NBA reporter Jake Fischer recently confirmed these rumors, via SiriusXM NBA Radio on Twitter.

“I’ve heard several people say that’s the exact opposite of what they’re going to do,” Fischer said.

Fischer addressed Presti’s previous comments about “finishing their breakfast,” which essentially means to see what the current core of the team can achieve without making any major changes to the roster.

While Presti may have made these comments, Fischer revealed that he has heard some chatter about the organization planning to do the exact opposite.

Now, it could mean that the Thunder go all in to swoop a big-name superstar around the deadline or the next offseason.

But is it really the right move?

After all, the Thunder seemingly have found the perfect core that can help them stay competitive in the future.

Breaking up the current core of the team could certainly do more harm than good for the team.
