After a rough stretch in the middle of the 2023 NFL season, the Buffalo Bills seem to have rediscovered their groove as they’ve won three out of their last four games.
Since elevating Joe Brady as the team’s interim offensive coordinator, the Bills have been able to move the football more efficiently though it’s come at the expense of the passing game.
Josh Allen hasn’t been asked to do as much as they’ve leaned more on James Cook and the running game, though the results speak for themselves.
Cook has been on a tear as of late and looks like he’s living up to his second-round draft capital, though Buffalo has to be careful not to overwork him down the stretch.
For short-yardage situations, the Bills have a capable backup in Latavius Murray though the veteran hasn’t looked nearly as explosive versus years past.
However, it looks like the team is aware of this and is reinforcing their backfield as they’re adding Leonard Fournette to the gameday roster via Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
“The Bills get a big lift today, as RB Leonard Fournette is elevated,” Rapoport said.

Fournette’s been a successful option in the past come postseason time, and it looks like he’s finally going to get an opportunity to contribute.
Unlike Cook, Fournette’s a bruiser who is a capable pass catcher though that seems to be more in line with Cook’s skillset.
It’ll be interesting to see how much juice Fournette has left in the tank at this point in his career.
