Kendrick Perkins Declares The ‘Best Team In The NBA’

The Boston Celtics didn’t make the biggest move in the offseason, but they still ended up on top.

Even though they didn’t get Damian Lillard, trading for Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday made them the clear-cut favorite to win the whole thing this season.

And according to former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins, they’re honoring that distinction by playing like the best team in the league right now.

Perkins said on The Pat McAfee Show that he doesn’t think they’re the best team in the league just because of their big win over the Los Angeles Lakers but also for the way they got past the Los Angeles Clippers.

Perkins admits that he thought they took way too many three-pointers, but he also believes they have the personnel to keep up that level of shooting.

Truth be told, there’s no more room or time for excuses in Boston.

Brad Stevens has put together the strongest starting lineup in the Association by a significant margin, and Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have an elite supporting cast.

They’ve left a lot to be desired in the playoffs in the past, and there are some doubts about Joe Mazzulla’s ability to make in-game adjustments and dig his team out of big holes, but none of that will matter in the postseason.

It’s championship or bust in Boston.

They’ve knocked on the door of an NBA championship way too many times in the past already, and a lot of people could lose their jobs if they don’t get it done this season.
