The defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles will be in the NFL playoffs once again this year, with Jalen Hurts and company doing enough to clinch a spot in the conference.

Even though the Eagles are playoff-bound once again, all is not well in Philadelphia, with reports of some internal turmoil between the coaching staff and players, namely head coach Nick Sirianni and star wide receiver A.J. Brown.

The Eagles have lost four of their last five games and no longer resemble the dominant squad the team once was earlier in the season when Philadelphia started the 2023 campaign with a record of 10-1, which at the time was the best in the league.

Along with all that might be going on behind closed doors, the Eagles are dealing with one of their best offensive weapons being on the mend, with DeVonta Smith nursing an ankle injury that has kept him sidelined, according to Tim McManus of ESPN.

With the Eagles struggling the way the team has been over the past month or so, Philadelphia will need their best players healthy once the NFL playoffs get underway in the coming weeks.

After having a career year last season in Philadelphia, Smith is having another solid year for the Eagles, with the young wide receiver catching 81 passes for 1,066 yards and seven touchdowns thus far.

Although Brown is Hurts’ favorite downfield weapon, Smith definitely helps this team fire on all cylinders, so his status will be monitored heading into Week 18 against the New York Giants and the NFL playoffs that will follow.
