Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is having a great season in his first year as the team’s full-time starter.

He’s thrown 30 touchdown passes and nearly 4,000 passing yards and has the Packers knocking on the door of the playoffs.

If Love beats the Chicago Bears in Week 18, it’ll be the first time a quarterback not named Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre will lead Green Bay to the postseason.

A lot of Love’s success has come in critical moments this season: He is tied with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes for the most touchdown passes on third and fourth down with 15, according to Pro Football Focus.

Love is doing all this with an equally inexperienced crop of skill-position players around him.

While the running back room is made up of veterans like Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon, Love’s wide receivers and tight ends are all first- or second-year players.

Wideouts Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs were drafted a year ago, while receivers Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks as well as tight ends Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft are all rookies.

This is kind of beneficial for Love, as he gets to grow with the skill position players around him.

It helps, too, that Love got to learn while playing backup quarterback for Rodgers, much like Rodgers did with Favre earlier in his career.

While the 2023 season has been one that has been full of learning experiences for Love, a postseason berth is a whole different ballgame for him.
