Analyst Compares Warriors Veteran To Ben Simmons

With the Golden State Warriors struggling to stay in the playoff picture in the Western Conference, all signs are pointing to the storied NBA franchise making a trade or two before the NBA trade deadline on February 8.

Even though superstar Stephen Curry continues to play at a high level on a nightly basis for head coach Steve Kerr, the same can’t be said for the rest of the roster, especially veteran forward Andrew Wiggins.

A few years ago, when the Warriors brought in Wiggins, he turned out to be the missing piece to the puzzle for Golden State, as he fit in perfectly with Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.

Unfortunately, after some unknown off-the-floor issues last year, Wiggins hasn’t been the same, as he has become a completely different player who is no longer capable of being a game-changer for the Warriors.

That said, the team would like to move off of him ahead of next month’s trade deadline, but it might not be that easy with how far he has fallen in terms of his impact on the basketball floor, according to Matt Steinmetz via 95.7 The Game and NBACentral.

The Warriors have been linked to some of the biggest names rumored to be available on the open market, with Dejounte Murray and Pascal Siakam being potential targets for Golden State over the next few weeks.

It’ll be interesting to see if the Warriors can put an intriguing trade package together in order to bring in some fresh players and help turn this thing around before their season is lost.
