Julian Edelman Names Which Team Bill Belichick Should Go To

Bill Belichick is a head coach free agent after he and the New England Patriots parted ways this offseason.

It was a move that wasn’t unexpected but will still have ramifications across the league depending on where Belichick coaches next.

While he’s continued to be connected to the Atlanta Falcons, one of his former players thinks he should coach a team that’s beaten him in a Super Bowl.

Former Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman picked the Philadelphia Eagles as the next destination for Belichick even though the team still has Nick Sirianni as their head coach.

Edelman explained that Philadelphia’s need for defensive help, the East Coast location, and Belichick’s respect for Eagles general manager Howie Roseman are the main reasons why he’d fit in well.

“Bill has a respect for people that do their job well,” Edelman said. “I don’t think Bill wants to go in and be the GM, but he’s going to want an opinion with someone that he respects and I think that would be a great fit for him.”

This would completely shift the balance of power in the NFC if Belichick and the Eagles made this move.

Philadelphia is one year removed from a Super Bowl appearance and started out the 2023 season 10-1 before a collapse at the end of the year that included a blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the wild-card round.

So, in theory, Belichick wouldn’t have to do much to save the Eagles and he’d still be within driving distance of his family on the East Coast.

The idea sounds like a win-win, but would require Philadelphia to fire Sirianni first.
