The Atlanta Falcons wasted no time after the team lost their regular-season finale to the division-rival New Orleans Saints recently, as the team almost immediately fired head coach Arthur Smith to get their coaching search started as soon as possible.
Once the team had officially parted ways with Smith, the consensus was that former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was the favorite to get the job and that the process might not take all that long to make him Smith’s successor in Atlanta.
However, it appears the team is taking its time to make a decision on who will be the next head coach, with the Falcons interviewing quite a few candidates and bringing in some coaches more than once.
Along with interviewing Belichick twice for the coaching job in Atlanta, the team is also bringing back Jim Harbaugh of the University of Michigan for a second interview, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
The #Falcons are scheduling a second interview with Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh for next week, per sources.

Belichick and Harbaugh will each want the job to say they got it over the other.

It seems like they’re actively exploring their options for the head coaching position. Scheduling a second interview with Jim Harbaugh shows their interest in him. It’s always interesting to see how these coaching searches unfold.

We are going to screw this up

At this point in time, the Falcons seem somewhat unpredictable, with no telling who’ll get the job in Atlanta, as it seems to be one of the hottest coaching jobs in the NFL right now.
Along with Harbaugh and Belichick getting two interviews, the team is also bringing in Mike Vrabel, formerly of the Tennessee Titans, to interview for the job next week.
Clearly, the team is doing its due diligence and can’t really go wrong hiring one of the three candidates mentioned.
