The Las Vegas Raiders had a critical decision on their hands as they were in the market for a new head coach.

Raiders owner Mark Davis fired both Dave Ziegler and Josh McDaniels after the pairing failed to bring over their success from the New England Patriots.

Las Vegas elevated linebackers coach Antonio Pierce as the interim head coach and he led the team to a 5-4 record during his stint.

It was quite the showing from Pierce who reinvigorated the roster and instilled a sense of toughness and physicality on both sides of the field that suited the players.

The locker room went to bat for Pierce to become the team’s new head coach and Davis obliged by offering him the position.

The football world praised the move and Deion Sanders gave the Raiders credit for going with Pierce via his personal Twitter account.

“God Bless @Raiders HeadCoach Antonio Pierce!!!! Wow God is good. All he needed was opportunity. Thank u to all the @Raiders players, fans and Faithful for supporting my Brother,” Sanders tweeted.

Davis could’ve gone with a higher-profile name like Jim Harbaugh or Bill Belichick, but instead, he chose Pierce who has won over numerous people including Sanders.

Pierce may not have previous head coaching experience, but he’s a leader of men who can communicate with players and get the best out of them.

Las Vegas still needs to add more talent to the roster in the offseason, but at least they’ve got a quality head coach in Pierce to lead the way now.
