Chiefs Are Preparing For Ravens In A Unique Way

If you’ve been watching the NFL long enough, you might know that there’s no one who can do what Lamar Jackson does.

No one extends plays and gets out of the pocket like him, and he might be the single-greatest scrambling quarterback of all time, or at least, he’s right there.

Nonetheless, it seems like the Kansas City Chiefs are pretty comfortable with the guy they have mimicking his runs and plays in the practice squad.

According to defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, practice squad QB Chris Oladokun has been putting in some hard work and excelling at playing the Lamar Jackson on the scout team to help their defense get ready for the AFC Championship Game (via ProFootballTalk):

“He did it yesterday for us,” Spagnuolo said. “I will say we’re fortunate that we have Chris. He did it last week for us. He was Josh Allen.”

The former seventh-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers has never made a single appearance in a regular-season game, but he did look impressive in the preseason with a 30-yard run.

Oladokun is mobile and has a quick burst with his feet, and while he’s no Lamar Jackson, anything helps.

Jackson is about to most likely win his second MVP award.

He didn’t post the most impressive numbers in the league by any means, but he was the best player on the best team.

On top of that, it seems like he’s the most comfortable he’s ever been playing in an offensive system, with Todd Monken bringing out the best of him as a passer.

Stopping him will be an uphill challenge, but the Kansas City Chiefs defense has been stellar for most of the campaign.
