The New York Jets have been the talk of the NFL for more than a year.

Despite not having much success in recent seasons, after acquiring Aaron Rodgers, many analysts and fans have high expectations for this team.

Rodgers represents hope to the Jets fanbase, something they haven’t experienced for many years.

While there is a lot of hype, hope, and excitement surrounding the Jets, not everyone is sold on them as contenders heading into the 2024 season.

One of their doubters is Nick Wright, who recently gave a case for the Jets having another lackluster season.

“You can’t have a bottom five coaching staff and be a Super Bowl contender,” Wright said on “First Things First.”

Wright believes that the Jets’ coaching staff doesn’t live up to the talent that exists on their roster, which could inhibit their chances of making a deep postseason run.

This conversation comes on the heels of rumors that Davante Adams might try to link back up with Rodgers, adding yet another talented piece to this offense.

Whether Adams joins this roster or not, remains to be seen.

In Wright’s eyes, it doesn’t matter who the Jets sign or trade for.

If the coaching staff stays the same, he isn’t confident in them to contend for the division lead, let alone a Super Bowl.

The 2024 season is going to tell fans a lot about the trajectory of the Jets.

If they make it to the playoffs, potentially going on a deep run, adding Rodgers was worth the fuss.

If the team struggles, there could be a larger conversation going on moving forward.
