The Miami Dolphins could use a boost to their pass-rushing unit.

New defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver will look to build off their late-season momentum and develop a stronger rapport with his players than Vic Fangio did.

And while they’re projected to fare slightly better next season with Jalen Ramsey healthy right out of the gate, they could still add a body or two to their defense.

With that in mind, they might look to bring back a familiar face.

According to a report by Cameron Wolfe of the NFL Network, they’re hosting veteran EDGE Emmanuel Ogbah for a workout.

Notably, this is particularly important after Shaq Barrett suddenly announced his retirement from the game.

The Dolphins cut Ogbah earlier in the offseason.

He was a salary-cap casualty, and parting ways with him was an easy decision for GM Chris Grier, given his underwhelming production.

He was fresh off posting back-to-back nine-sack seasons for the Dolphins, but that number dropped to just 6.5 sacks in his past two seasons combined.

The Dolphins are looking to make a big splash, and Barrett’s retirement announcement was a big blow to their aspirations.

Perhaps Ogbah could get back to his best with a new defensive coordinator in town.

It’s been two years since Mike McDaniel took the reins of the team and they have yet to win a playoff game, so they can’t leave anything to chance at this point.
