The Czech Embassy in Armenia has updated the application process for Schengen tourist visas, replacing the previously cancelled registration date.

Following the new changes, tourists should consider that they will be able to apply for Schengen visas from July 22, 2024, within limited hours of the days, Schengen.News reports.

Registration for Schengen visa applications will take place on Monday, 22.07.2024, at 20:00. This is a substitute date for the cancelled registration on 15.07.2024. The next registration dates will normally be on the 15th and 30th of the month.

Considering the embassy’s exceeding capacities and efforts to disrupt the registration, the latter pointed out that the registration will currently take place from 20:00 to 02:00, which means the embassy will be open for six hours.

For the purpose of applying for Schengen tourist visas, starting from today’s registration, the parameters of the registration email address [email protected] will be changed.

After the end of this period, all letters that meet the above conditions will be withdrawn. Thus, until the capacity requested by the embassy is reached, applications will be randomly selected, regardless of when they arrived in the mailbox.

Visa Processing Office at Czech Embassy in Armenia Temporarily Closed in 2023

Last year, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Armenia announced that registration for submitting Schengen visa applications was temporarily suspended because of organisational and technical circumstances.

After being closed due to COVID-19, the Czech Embassy in Yerevan partially resumed its work on August 1, 2020, thus restarting the process of issuing visas to citizens.

Furthermore, citizens of the Republic of Armenia must have a Schengen visa to travel to Czechia. Armenian citizens can submit their Schengen visa applications only at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Armenia but not in the Czechia Republic.

A foreigner who is not a citizen of the Republic of Armenia submits a visa application in person only at the consular section under the conditions of a long-term stay in the Republic of Armenia’s territory.

Processing Time for a Schengen Visa

The office processes the Schengen visa application within five working days, particularly in complex or justified cases, within 30 days from the submission date. For long-term visas, several months should be calculated to process the application.

The legal period for reviewing the application depends on the purpose of the stay:

  • Two months: study, scientific activities
  • 3-4 months: employment, business, participation in a legal entity, family reunification
