Steve Kerr Makes Kevin Durant’s Status With Team USA Very Clear

Team USA has some of the best players in the NBA, and they should have more than enough resources to beat any team that comes across them.

Nonetheless, even good things could be better, and you must make the most of the opportunity to have the best players on Earth on the floor.

That’s why USA Basketball hasn’t even considered replacing Kevin Durant on the Olympic roster.

A reporter asked coach Steve Kerr whether that would be a possibility, and the Golden State Warriors coach made it loud and clear that that’s not on the table (via ClutchPoints).

When the reporter insisted, Boston Celtics star Jrue Holiday, who was on the podium with Kerr, stated that he was Kevin Durant, and there was simply no point in discussing the matter further.

Of course, on paper, you always want Kevin Durant to be on the floor.

Then again, he’s not particularly young, and he’s struggled with injuries since he left the Warriors, so the question makes perfect sense.

Also, it’s not like this would be unprecedented, as Kawhi Leonard withdrew himself from the team earlier this month because of injury concerns.

Durant is currently dealing with a calf injury, and those can be extremely tricky and lead to Achilles injuries.

Unless there’s a significant setback, it seems like Durant is most definitely going to be out there in Paris.
