ICFRE Accredits SKUAST-K’s Faculty of Forestry with Grade A++

SRINAGAR: In an interesting development, the Faculty of Forestry at the Benhama-Watlar Campus of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) has been accredited with Grade A++ by the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), Dehradun. This accreditation is valid for the next five years, beginning on July 26, 2024, and highlights the faculty’s excellence in forestry education and research, the Faculty said in a statement.

Dean Professor Sajad Ahmad Gangoo expressed immense pride in this recognition, attributing the accolade to the unwavering commitment, dedication, and sincerity of the faculty members. The university’s Vice-Chancellor, along with Directors, Deans, and all faculty members, extended heartfelt congratulations to the Faculty of Forestry for this significant accomplishment. The recognition not only brings prestige to the faculty but also to the entire university, enhancing its reputation in the field of forestry education.

In a joint statement, department heads, faculty, and non-teaching staff reaffirmed their commitment to their mission and goals. They asserted their success in guiding students to prestigious positions such as the Indian Forest Service (IFS), Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS), Kashmir Police Service (KPS), Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF), Range Officers, and Bank Probationary Officers. The faculty’s ability to attract international students and its dedication to achieving the highest global standards were also highlighted.

The Grade A++ accreditation by ICFRE marks a significant milestone for the Faculty of Forestry at SKUAST-K, showcasing its outstanding contributions to forestry education and research.
