The Paris Olympics will see fierce competition on Saturday. Due to jet lag, many events were over before people woke up.

But we did get to see an interesting basketball game at a convenient time, with Giannis Antetokounmpo taking on all of Canada. Well, he does have some Greek teammates, but they're not as familiar as Team Canada.

The United States will face Serbia in Group C on Sunday. The U.S. team wasn't that strong in the warm-up, but they hope to be more competitive in the race for medals.

The Saturday baseball schedule is usually crowded, so we'll be looking for some winners there, too.

Canada VS. Greece

When Greece and Canada meet in Group A, Giannis will recognize a lot of faces.

NBA MVP runner-up Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is Canada's star player, along with Jamal Murray, Andrew Nembhard and Nickeil Alexander-Walker in the backcourt.

Swingmen RJ Barrett and Lu Dort are dangerous players, and the frontcourt includes Kelly Olynyk and Dwight Powell. And then there's enforcer Dillon Brooks, who's certainly ready to sidestep all Olympic rules of sportsmanship if there's a loose ball to catch or an opponent to push.

Giannis without his brother Costasleft or right, but Greece also has veteran point guard Nick Calathes.

Calathes, 35, was a standout at the University of Florida and played two NBA seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies, but has spent most of his career playing in Europe.

Canada has so many weapons on its roster, which is why the country is viewed as one that can compete with the United States for gold. We saw Canada win by double digits.

Canada -7 spread, -110 (DraftKings)

Pittsburgh Pirates VS Pittsburgh Pirates Arizona Diamondbacks

It's always good to find a hot pitcher against a team that may not have a few key bats. Right-hander Brandon Pfaadt has been striking out hitters lately, and doing so in six (maybe seven) innings against Pittsburgh seems like a good option.

Pfutter has allowed just four hits in his last two starts while pitching 13 scoreless innings. He dominated the Atlanta Braves lineup for six innings while giving up three hits on July 11, and his last outing was even better, allowing seven innings against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday. Got a hit.

It's even deeper. In his past four starts, Pfutter allowed two runs on 16 hits in 23 1/3 innings, striking out 25 and walking just three. He will face a Buccaneers team without All-Star Brian Reynolds (bereavement) and possibly Roddy Tellez (back spasms).

Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks were never able to score much. They won Friday's game 4-3. Pirates left-hander Marco Gonzales will keep the pressure on and both bullpens will perform well.

Overall score below 8.5, -115 (DraftKings)

Washington Nationals at St. Louis Cardinals

Blake Owen had a solid three-game outing, allowing two hits and five runs in 20 innings. Just as quickly, the 6-foot-6 right-hander gave up six ERA and nine hits in each of his next two games, watching his EFA soar from 2.80 to 3.49.

But Irving bounced back in his second major league season, allowing two runs and five hits in seven innings last Sunday against the Cincinnati Reds. Despite hitting two home runs in his third straight start, it looked like he might be back in form.

The Nationals are a tough team to figure out. They held the San Diego Padres' Dylan Cease hitless on Thursday and then had them in scoring position in Friday's 10-8, 10-inning road win over the St. Louis Cardinals 18 at-bats were struck.

Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado were having quiet seasons with the Cardinals but both hit home runs on Friday. St. Louis right-hander Kyle Gibson was impressive last time out but has allowed four runs in three of his previous four games. We saw good prices in Washington that were worth accepting.
