Senior White House adviser Anita Dunn will leave her job next week to lead a massive political action committee that is backing Vice President Kamala Harris against former President Donald Trump's presidency, according to senior White House officials. political campaign.

Dunn, who has been a trusted ally of President Joe Biden for years, will advise Future Forward, a PAC that recently launched a $50 million advertising campaign The official confirmed support for Harris. The news was first reported by Washington post.

In a statement, Biden praised Dunn as “strong and tested.”

“I greatly value her advice and friendship, and I will continue to rely on her partnership and insights as we complete our work over the next six months,” Biden said.

“It has been an honor to serve in the White House, with this president, and with this team during this transformative term. I am grateful to President Biden and Vice President Harris for their leadership and the opportunity to be a part of them. An achievement for the American people,” Dunn said in a statement to NBC News.

Dunn's departure from the White House to help Harris is a sign that Biden's closest advisers are preparing to help the vice president try to defeat Trump.

Dunn is a veteran political figure who served as an adviser to Biden during his 2020 presidential campaign against Trump. She joined the Biden White House in 2021, then briefly left before returning in 2022 to advise the president.

Before joining Biden, she served as a managing director at consulting giant SKDK and was a close adviser to former President Barack Obama.
